Available Services
Loans
Books may be signed out for two weeks. They may be renewed. an STM library card (which you receive free of charge in grade 9) is srequired to sign out books.
A fine of ten cents per day is charged for each overdue book.
Lost books must be replaced.
PRINTING
Printing is available in the library for a fee of 25 cents per page, black
and white OR colour.
In order to print, you must have money on your computer account.
The minimum amount of money to be put on your account is $5.00 and can be
put onto your account through Mrs. DiGiacinto or any other available librarian.
Photocopying
Coin-operated photocopier is available. Copies cost twenty cents a page.
Black and white copies only. Several features such as double-sided and enlargements.
Change is provided for quarters and loonies.
Supplies
Some supplies required for projects are available for purchase. (Ex. markers,
overhead transparency pens, overhead transparencies, disks)
Computers
Our library has thirty computers, which are to be used for research and word processing. They may not be used for games, personal e-mail or recreational purposes.
Printouts are available in black and white for ten cents per page. colour printouts are abailable for twenty five cents per page.

Collection
The STM library has approximately 12,000 books and we are constantly updating
it, purchasing the most recent and up-to-date books.
Fiction Collection
Organized in alphabetical order by author's last name. Read the award winning
and recommended books for young adults!
Non-Fiction Collection
Organized by Dewey Decimal Classification System. To access these books,
use the automated catalogue system: OPAC ( On-line Public Access Catalogue)
Periodicals
Hamilton spectator, Teen People, Car and Driver, Maclean's, Mational Geographic, Time, etc.
Reference Books
This is a good starting point for research. In this section, you will find dictionaries, almanacs, specialized encyclopedias, atlases, etc. These books may only be used in the library. They may not be signed out.

The computers will default to the Board Home Page. This is a very useful tool, as it provides much help with your writing and research. Be sure to utilize this site. To use this site at home, type the address:
