| We also had two teams of students participate in the McMaster Business Heroes program again this year. The team of Heela Berat, Rochelle Teodoro, and Joseph Cruz placed an impressive 4th place in a competition that saw 39 Southern Ontario schools compete. Special thanks to Ms Martines and Mr. Memme (student teacher) for assisting the teams in this challenging competition. | |||

The tours include the financial district, Ground Zero, South Street Seaport, China Town, Little Italy, SoHo, Central Park, and Times Square. The activities include a Broadway play (Wicked), a baseball game (Yankees vs Twins), an all access tour of Madison Square Gardens, The Sony Wonder Tech Lab tour, the Top of the Rock tour, and an NBC Studio tour. WOW! That’s a lot of business and a lot of fun rolled up into four days. Enjoy the adventure! |

Our Grade 12 Entrepreneurship class had the pleasure of participating in the Anna Olson presentation at our school this semester. Anna Olson spoke to a hundred of our students in our school Library. She described her journey from the time she was sitting in her own high school library to her present career in the culinary fields that include television and writing cookbooks. It was a very inspirational workshop and our students certainly appreciated the opportunity to attend and the message they received. |
| The interest our students have shown in earning a Specialist
High Skills Major (SHSM) in Business continues to grow. Over 70 students
are now registered and working toward this designation on their diploma.
Congratulations on choosing this ministry-approved specialized program that
provides the opportunity to build a foundation of sector-focused knowledge
and skills simultaneously with the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. |
As we move towards June, I’d like to encourage our students to stay focused and keep working. I’d also like to remind them of a few words from Zig Ziglar, “You need a plan to build a house. To build a life, it is even more important to have a plan or goal.” Plan well and enjoy the closing months of this school year. | ||
