Lady Knights exceed expectations to win bronze medal at AAAA OFSAA

The St. Thomas More senior girls’ basketball program exceeded the expectations of many this season!  The Lady Knights improved steadily throughout their injury filled season and played their best basketball when it mattered most. The team defeated first place St. Mary’s to become the Hamilton Catholic League Champion and then went on to win the AAAA GHAC regional title against a very strong Notre Dame Burlington.

At the AAAA OFSAA championship in Windsor, the Knights came in as the #5 seed but finished by winning bronze. In tournament play, they defeated Barrie Eastview SS 48-19, Birchmount HS 62-43, and #4 seeded Fr. Michael Goetz 53-36 to advance to the medal round. The Knights first tournament loss came to the #1 seeded Hamilton Westdale, however, the team bounced back to then beat #2 seeded Waterloo Collegiate 46-39 in an exciting bronze medal game.
